Blah blah! 5 reasons why Indian reality shows seem to be getting stuck in a rut

Like every year, 2018 also saw a number of reality shows on TV. Around five of them were singing reality shows along with others like Bigg Boss 12, India’s Got Talent and Dance India Dance. Out of so many reality shows, only Super Dancer, Dance Deewane, Indian Idol and Kaun Banega Crorepati fared well on the reality charts. Many singing and dance based reality shows fared to break into the top 20. The biggest disappointment was Bigg Boss 12. The previous season was a hugely successful one but the nine pm one just failed to make the cut either with the youth audience or the TRP aunties. Too much is too much
Just because your rival channels are having a singing reality show does not mean that you announce auditions for one. Excess of anything is bad. And it makes so sense to roll out a show with substandard talent. In 2018, Indian Idol succeeded solely on the basis of the talent they brought on the show. The same funda applies to dance reality shows. There is a limit to the hip-hop, salsa and B-boying that one can see and actually enjoy.
