Arjun Reddy actor Vijay Deverakonda scored the third hit in his career with Geetha Govindam which was directed by Parasuram. A rom-com, Geetha Govindam was one of the biggest hits of 2018 in Telugu cinema and amplified the stardom of Vijay Deverakonda. And as always, buzz is that the film may be remade in Bollywood with a young actor. News has it that Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khatter has been approached to play the role essayed by Vijay Deverakonda in the original. Ishaan Khattrer made his debut in films with Dhadak alongside Jhaanvi Kapoor recently. The film was a remake of Marathi film Sairaat and went on to do some decent business.
Sources close to the film’s unit reveal that Ishaan Khatter has agreed in principal to play the role in the film. It is also being said that the producer of the original film, Bunny Vaas, is bankrolling this project which is yet to be official. Sources also say that the makers of the original are in talks with various filmmakers to helm the project and soon an official announcement would be made. The film’s team is also on the lookout for the lead actress. Coincidentally, Ishaan Khatter’s brother Shahid Kapoor features in the Bollywood remake of Deverakonda’s Arjun Reddy which changed the dynamics of Telugu cinema.
