“I always thought I’d have four to six kids,” the newly named WW ambassador said Thursday on the “Today” show. “That was like, when I was really little, I thought that. But when you come from a big family, I think, well maybe it’s the opposite, you either don’t want kids or you want a lot of kids. So I always thought I’d have [more kids.]”
In addition to her baby girl, Hudson, 39, shares son Ryder, 15, with ex-husband Chris Robinson. Their divorce was finalized in 2007. Four years later, the actress welcomed son Bingham, 7, with then-fiancé Matt Bellamy. They ended their engagement in 2014.
Hudson, who has been dating Fujikawa, 32, since 2016, announced the couple was expecting last April.
“At one point I was like, ‘Maybe I’m done,’ and then I met Danny and I was like, all right, well, I got to pop them out for him,” she shared.
Hudson also opened up about the possibility of expanding her family with Fujikawa.
“I don’t know. I mean, if it works out that way … he needs a boy, right? His own boy.” she said.
As for how her other sons have adjusted to life with a newborn, Hudson said Ryder has made note of the age gap.
“Fifteen years and a newborn is really quite amazing to watch,” Hudson explained. “It’s like, a completely different generation. My son looked at me and goes, ‘Mom, I’m going to be 30, she’s going to be just turning 16.’ But that’s wild that I’ll have a 30-year-old kid and a child in high school.”
