If the engagement ring is any indication, Tim Tebow’s wedding is going to be over the top.
On Thursday, the Mets prospect and former football player announced his engagement to Miss Universe 2017, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters.
“@demileighnp Thank you for saying YES and making me the happiest man in the world. You’re the love of my life, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you,” Tebow, 31, posted on Instagram, along with photos of the proposal — and the enormous ring.
The round-cut center stone is an eye-popping 7.25 carats, according to People. “This ring is internally flawless — just like you,” Tebow reportedly said as he slipped the solitaire onto Nel-Peters’ finger.
The magazine also reports that Tebow purchased the diamond one month before proposing from a broker who flew into Jacksonville, Florida, with several options.
Experts at JamesAllen.com told Page Six Style that the ring could easily cost $1 million through traditional retailers. The diamond is set in platinum with pavé accents on both the band and the gallery, highlighting the stunning center stone.
Tebow set the stage for the perfect proposal by taking his bride-to-be on a sunset walk around his family’s farm just outside of Jacksonville. Next to a lake, Tebow installed an arbor and a bench, which he had carved with the date the couple first met. The two were spotted together over the summer, and confirmed their relationship in July.
“I actually wasn’t really nervous,” Tebow told People of the proposal. “I was excited. I wanted everything to be perfect and to go smoothly. But I wasn’t nervous to actually ask her.”
Who could say no to such a dazzling ring?
