Despite splendid box office collections, Aquaman fails to beat The Dark Knight Rises to become DC’s biggest hit in two decades!

Aquaman‘s success worldwide is really interesting. Aquaman has always been considered the weakest link in the DC Universe. You might have often heard Sheldon Cooper and his friends make fun of this underwater superhero on Big Bang Theory. But while the combined mix of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman crumbled upon release, Aquaman is reaching heights. Ever since its release, the collections of the film has only soared. Now as per The Hollywood Reporter, Aquaman will become yet another success for DC after The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. Last Sunday, the film earned $751.8 million. Estimates reveal the film will go past the $900 million mark by the end of its run which will put it right next to The Dark Knight and the Dark Night Rises. The latter had earned $1.09 billion in 2012!

In the intervening years, it was only Wonder Woman whose $821.8 million helped DC earn some merit at the box office post the Nolan-Bale era. DC struggled to contest with the exploding Marvel Universe which has been making a killing at the box office since forever now. So, Aquaman has come a big relief for DC post Wonder Woman.
