Ranveer Singh let go off his Khilji and Simmba persona to transform into a boy from the streets of Mumbai for Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. We got a glimpse of his transformation in the trailer that released yesterday and we’re eager to watch the movie. While we haven’t stopped raving about the trailer, we also came across many people wondering if the movie is a biopic on the Mumbai-based rapper Divine, aka Vivian Fernandes. While the director cleared the air on the biopic rumours to say that it wasn’t a biopic, the rapper shared his thoughts on the rumours only to agree with Zoya.
The music artist told BollywoodLife that Gully Boy is not a story about him, but it is a story of hip-hop from the gully. “I never said that this was a biopic! This is the story of hip-hop, and hip-hop from the gully. This is the story of all of us,” he said.
