George Foreman made his first public remarks following the death of his daughter Freeda over the weekend.
“Daddy I want to Box, ‘Get an Education first’ I said, well she Brought The bacon home ( degree) 2 Kids 3 Grands (Husband),” the boxing legend tweeted. “First Sunday in 42 years without my Freeda. She’s With her maker now.10 kids forever. Just 1 more day I wanted okay 1 more year aw I more decade.”
Along with the heartfelt message, the 70-year-old also included a photo of him and his daughter after she graduated from Sam Houston State University in Texas.
Freeda was reportedly found dead at her home outside Houston by a family member on Saturday. On Monday, TMZ reported that she is believed to have died by suicide. Athough a final cause of death will be made by the coronor, it is believed she hanged herself.
In her mid-20s she briefly followed in her father’s footsteps by pursuing a professional boxing career. She won her first five fights but retiring after losing her sixth in 2001.
Freeda is survived by her husband, two daughters, three grandchildren, her parents and 11 siblings.
