A toast to the groom and bride to be!
Original “Hamilton cast members Anthony Ramos and Jasmine Cephas Jones announced they got engaged on Christmas Eve in heartfelt Instagram posts on Friday.
“Thank you for saying yes to writing stories together for the rest of our lives,” Ramos, 27, who was the first John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the beloved show’s run, captioned an adorable photo of the two with the Eiffel Tower in the background. “I’m honored and Blessed to marry you.”
The sweet snap also showed off Jones’ engagement ring.
Jones, 29, who played Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds when “Hamilton” took over Broadway in 2015, gushed in her post about how Ramos proposed in England in front of her family at Arundel Castle.
“It brought tears to my eyes because I don’t get to see my family in England that I’m so close with that much because we are an ocean away, but they got to witness this amazing event in our lives. And what a moment it was!! All because of you. I will NEVER forget this magical trip for as long as I live,” she wrote. “I love you beyond words and am so excited to continue this awesome journey with you.”
The musical’s lyricist, and original Broadway star, Lin-Manuel Miranda took to Twitter to congratulate his former cast mates.
“THIS was worth traveling to Instagram for: CONGRATS @JasCephasJones & @ARamosofficial!” he wrote from Puerto Rico where he’s currently prepping to jump back into his revolutionary role. “You deserve the world. I love you.”
Ramos recently starred as Lady Gaga’s friend in “A Star is Born” while Jones starred in “Blindspotting” alongside another OG “Hamilton” star, Daveed Diggs.
