Lil Xan’s girlfriend has vehemently denied rumors she’s faking her pregnancy.
Annie Smith has lashed out at speculation among a segment of the rapper’s fan base that she Photoshopped the ultrasound images she shared in her pregnancy announcement video last week.
“I’m honestly really disappointed that we announced it and now this is the rumor floating around,” she told E! News.
Over the weekend, a number of Lil Xan fan accounts noted similarities between Smith’s ultrasound images and pictures that can be found with a simple Google search. Smith says that’s only because of the actions of a troublemaking stan.
“When I posted my YouTube video with my ultrasound pictures, a girl (I’m not going to comment on who) photoshopped them with another persons name, year, birthday, etc., and uploaded them to Google,” she explained.
Smith, who is currently traveling with Xan while he’s on tour in Europe, told the website that she’s trying not let all the talk get to her and may reduce her online activities because of it.
“I’m traveling and stressed at the moment so I think for the baby and myself it’s best to stay in a positive environment,” the star says. “I really am just staying off the internet for the time being because it’s really sad for me to see these things.”
Smith and Xan announced they were expecting their first child last week. The news came weeks after the rapper was released from a rehab facility he had checked himself into for help kicking an opioid problem.
“I wanted to wait but i just can’t leave my fans in the dark, it’s official im going to be a father 😭💔,” he captioned a photo of him and Smith embracing. “i love you guys so much and hope you stay along for this crazy journey and i’ve never felt more happy in my life💔”
