“Me time is huge for me, and that would be, like, a 30-minute shower, and my kids not knocking on the door,” she said at The Cut’s “How I Get It Done” event at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge on Monday. “It’s just, like, me talking to myself during the shower. I like to have my own concerts.”
Speaking about how she balances life as a mom and a reality star, specifically when it comes to her work with brands on social media, the “Jersey Shore” cast member, 31, said it helps that her two kids, Lorenzo, 6, and Giovanna, 4, are in school.
“During the day it’s nice, I drop them off at school, I get all my s–t done and then I pick them up at 3 and I’m back to mommy mode,” she told crowd during a panel discussion.
But when it comes to posting in partnership with a certain product, the MTV personality said she’ll only share what she feels is authentic.
“A lot of people on social media, they just post [products] they get for a check but they can’t really relate to it and you can tell,” she explained. ‘It’s like ‘OK, bitch, you’re just getting a paycheck.’”
As for posting pictures of her kids on Instagram, Polizzi said she took a break from sharing family photos because of negative comments she received.
“I used to not show the kids a lot, but I have to because their just so freaking cute,” she said. “I used to post a lot and then people would be so mean, like making fun of my daughter and my son and I literally just wanted to find these people’s addresses and go to their house and kill them so I took a year break from posting my kids, now I just post it and if I [see bad comments] I block the person.”
And even though she said her life — messy house and makeup-free snaps included — is an open book, she does hold back on posting photos of her husband, Jionni LaValle.
“He doesn’t like my fame life, which is great,” she said. “But also I want to keep me and him personal because something could happen, so I like to keep him in a little bubble. He’s mine.”
However, when it comes to LaValle’s personal Instagram, he makes sure his posts are Snooki-approved.
“He goes, ‘Can you proofread this?” she said. “He doesn’t post a lot on Instagram but when he does I have to approve it. I’m like, ‘Babe just post it.’ It’s so annoying.”
Polizzi, who is expecting a girl, said she’s due in three months.
