Pace University students want David Pecker’s name scrubbed

Students at New York’s Pace University have had just about enough Pecker.

Its newspaper, Pace Chronicle, has published an op-ed calling for the college to remove the name of National Enquirer publisher David Pecker from a lecture theater on its Westchester campus amid his various scandals, including the Karen McDougal “catch and kill” case and his company’s alleged “blackmail” of Jeff Bezos.

Major donor Pecker — who graduated from the school in the 1960s — has an honorary degree from Pace, a professorship there named after him, and the David J. Pecker Lecture Hall named in his honor, according to the piece.
