R. Kelly’s alleged victim’s family blasts claim they ‘sold’ their daughter

The family of one of R. Kelly‘s alleged victims blasted the R&B singer’s claim that they sold her to him.

Gerald Griggs, who represents the family of Joycelyn Savage, insisted at a press conference Wednesday that her father, Timothy, “at no point” met with Kelly.

“At no point have the Savages requested or received money from [Kelly],” said Griggs in Atlanta, Ga. “They don’t want any money. He has settled at least six cases with non-disclosure arrangements. Why was he making those payouts if there was nothing nefarious happening?”

The parents of the 23-year-old have repeatedly accused Kelly of brainwashing her and holding her captive as part of a sex cult.

The Savages said they haven’t been in touch with Joycelyn in two years since she got into a relationship with the “Trapped in the Closet” singer, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“I know for a fact my sister is not OK. I know for a fact R. Kelly is destroying her,” the woman’s sister, Jailyn, said. “I know he has put a lot of things in her head that not just her family, but the world is out to get her.”

Jailyn explained that Joycelyn was first interested in getting in touch with Kelly to work with him musically.

In his 80-minute sit-down with CBS “This Morning” co-host Gayle King, Kelly claimed, “What kind of father, what kind of mother would sell their daughter to a man?”
“How come it was OK for me to see them until they wasn’t getting no money from me?”

The embattled 52-year-old — who is charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in Chicago — also said he was in a “relationship” with Savage and another woman, Azriel Clary.

“I love ’em and it’s almost — it’s like they’re my girlfriends,” he said.

Savage’s mom Jonjelyn shared an emotional message for her daughter at the press conference.

“If you’re seeing this message, please know I love you,” she said. “Nothing that we’ve done was to embarrass you, it’s because we care about your well-being. We won’t stop until we have our answers and make sure you’re safe and sound.”
