‘School of Rock’ star facing felony charges for guitar theft

The lead guitarist from Jack Black’s band in the movie “School of Rock” is facing felony charges in Florida for allegedly stealing guitars.

Joey Gaydos Jr., who starred as a child alongside Black in the 2003 film, faces felony larceny and grand theft charges after he was caught allegedly trying to steal guitars and an amplifier four times over the last five weeks, according to TMZ.

Police claim that Gaydos, 27, would go to music stores, ask to test out expensive guitars, then leave without paying and attempt to get money for the instruments at pawn shops.

According to police, he’d been caught trying to pawn an $800 blue Les Paul Epiphone Prophecy, a $699 black Fender Stratocaster and a $1,900 Gibson Les Paul gold top since the beginning of the year.

While cops claim that Gaydos admitted to the thefts, blaming them on a drug problem, the former actor reportedly pleaded not guilty to the charges in court.
