Top chefs eat and drink their way through Miami

Top chefs swarmed Miami for the annual South Beach Food & Wine Festival over the weekend.

Master cooks Bobby Flay, Anne Burrell, Andrew Zimmern, Robert Irvine, Guy Fieri and Tom Colicchio, among others, were wined and dined at a chefs-only party at Chef Andrew Carmellini’s restaurant The Dutch late Thursday.

Guests noshed on assorted empanadas, crispy tostones stuffed with ropa vieja, Cuban sandwiches and ceviche.

Also on the menu was Caja China with a traditional pig roast, black bean sofrito, and yuka frita tossed in cassava and lemon garlic mojo. For the sweet-toothed, churros with guava and dulce de leche and Cuban flan were served.

Frilly cocktails for the night included the #InHonorOfMiami, Caffe Courvoisier and Tranquilo Tropical drinks.

We hear the party lasted until 1 a.m.

The food fair continued Friday, when Flay, Burrell, Katie Lee, David Burtka (joined by actor hubby Neil Patrick Harris) and other chefs were spotted at W South Beach for a day of events including Geoffrey Zakarian‘s “Food Talk” Sirius Radio show.

We hear Lee was making the rounds accompanied by her tiny dog Gus, while Flay enjoyed some family time with his daughter Sophie.

“They all were in great spirits and enjoyed all the food at the event,” an insider told Page Six.

Getting the VIP spread once again, we’re told guests enjoyed passed plates by Carmellini including lobster rolls on a buttered brioche, tuna tacos with crema and Fresno Chile, chicken sliders with honey garlic glaze, scallop crudo with passionfruit and scotch bonnet, avocado toast with spiced pistachio, and foie gras tarts with apple mostarda.

Carmellini then kicked off Saturday’s festivities at The Chicken Coupe event where he brought in chefs Michael Lewis, Jeff McInnis and Diego Oka.

“Lewis and McInnis shared a warm welcome at the beginning of the event,” the insider said.
