2018 was a great year for Bollywood but for the South film industry, it was not less than a phenomenon as films like 2.0, Kaala, Sarkar, KGF, Rangasthalam and many others set new benchmarks at the global box office. And to honour these landmark films, Vikatan 2018 Awards were held last night.
Talking about the big honours, Dhanush bagged the Best Actor trophy for his extraordinary portrayal of raw gangster Anbu in Vetrimaran’s Vada Chennai. The Best Actress Award was won by Trisha for her amazing girl-next-door role of Janaki in Vijay Sethupathi starrer 96. Filmmaker Mari Selvaraj won the best director for Pariyerum Perumal, while Merrkku Thodarchi Malai won Best Film.
