Elisabeth Hasselbeck once threatened to storm off “The View” midshow, telling staffers that Barbara Walters could read about her exit “in the New York f - - king Post!”

The incident went down during a 2006 taping, Ramin Setoodeh reports in his new book “Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of ‘The View,’ ” after conservative Hasselbeck got into a heated exchange with Walters over the “morning-after pill.”

Hasselbeck, who said, “I believe that life begins at the moment of conception,” was cut off during the ensuing conversation by Walters and stormed off during a commercial break.

In a leaked tape, the book reports that Hasselbeck is heard telling co-star Joy Behar of Walters, “What the f - - k! I don’t even swear. She has me swearing. This woman is driving me nuts. I’m not going back. I can’t do the show like this. She just reprimanded me, and she knew exactly what she was doing. Goodbye! I’m off. Read about that in the New York f - - king Post!”

Then with three minutes till she was due back on-air, Hasselbeck is heard telling former executive producer Bill Geddie, “I’m quitting. I don’t need to be reprimanded on the air like that by this woman.”

Adding, “I will take it in the meeting. I will not take that on the air. I’m leaving.”

Hasselbeck ended up sticking around, till she eventually left in 2013.

In 2016, when Walters wanted to do a reunion, Hasselbeck “turned down ABC’s request,” the book reports.

Star Jones is quoted as saying, “That just wasn’t right.”

But Hasselbeck will be on the show, we hear, on Tuesday to promote her own new book, “Point of View.”

“Ladies Who Punch” is out April 2 from Thomas Dunne Books.

Rosie O’Donnell admits in the tome that she had “a little bit of a crush” on right-leaning Hasselbeck.

“But it was in no way sexualized.”
