Why Kristoff St. John’s fiancée won’t be attending his memorial

Kristoff St. John‘s fiancée was not present when he was laid to rest on Monday because her visa was denied.

“I want to be with him, his family, and his friends,” Kseniya Mikhaleva wrote on Instagram. “Several weeks ago I applied for an ’emergency’ visa for the funeral to say goodbye my fiancé and beloved. Answer was ‘No.’ My heart is broken.”

The 25-year-old model, who resides in her native Russia, said she dated the 52-year-old “Young and the Restless” star for a year and was the “happiest woman on earth.” The couple got engaged in September 2018.

In the post, Mikhaleva further expressed her frustration for not attending the memorial service, adding, “I am going through this with a huge pain in my heart, and realize that I don’t have opportunity to say goodbye to him and put flowers on his grave. It is not right, not fair.”

St. John was found dead in his California home on February 3. His attorney, Mark Geragos, confirmed the soap star’s passing to Page Six and also tweeted a statement.

“Few men had the unique strength, courage & sensitivity that @kristoffstjohn1 lived every single minute of every day. He impacted everyone he met and millions who he inspired and in turn admired him,” Geragos wrote. “On behalf of @MiaStJohnBoxer & @TheStJohnFamily thank you for all of your love.”
